LIFE AS
a Girl Gone International often means taking the road less
traveled. Often the road is fraught
with obstacles, uncharted terrain and
sometimes danger – figuratively and
literally. Nowhere manifests this better than ‘the world’s most dangerous
road’, AKA Death Road in Boliiva.
I have two huge fears: heights and falling. Having confronted my fear of
heights to rappel in the Andes, hike Machu Picchu, zipline in the Costa Rican
Rainforest, I know the only way to conquer fear is to act. So I booked a ticket
to Bolivia to hurtle myself at 30mph
(48km/h) on a bike down an unpaved
dirt track, with sheer cliff drops set
against the lush backdrop of Bolivia’s
rainforest where people fall to their
deaths every year.
There are an
estimated 200 300 deaths per
year on the road
which is nearly
all downhill &
drops of 11,800 ft.
