Apps to use: My favourite running app is Strava. Joanne’s Top 5 tips:
I love the detailed maps and pace analysis, how
you can upload your runs to the web and Facebook and how it tracks your progress and routes
over time. It also shows other routes people run in
your area if you’re looking for alternatives.
1. Monitor your progress – You can do this
with a Smartphone or GPS watch.
2. Have someone to train with – This keeps
you accountable and gets you out of bed!
3. Have an end goal – Choose something big
to train for and sign up early.
4. Start slow and run at the right pace – Talking pace is talking pace, not breathless pace.
5. Have a training plan – And follow and
modify it if needed.”
