What do you wish you’d been told
before you came on the ship?
I wish I had known how quickly gossip can
spread. Working on a ship as a woman can
lead to a lot of assumptions. You just have
to keep a smile on your face and ignore the
gossip until it fades.
How long are your work contracts
and breaks?
I am a freelance worker so my contract can
vary from 10 days to 2 months.
I am fortunate and get to go on an excursion in just about every port so I spend as
much time as possible on land to make
sure I don’t miss photographing anything.
Any advice to women pursuing
this career?
Keep an open mind. Each company has
different expectations and eventually you’ll
find one that works best for you!
