ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK
Why did you decide to move abroad ? My husband Thomas and I took 10 months off work to pursue our dream of traveling the world . We had always discussed moving our lives somewhere different . We both felt that we wanted a new life experience . We knew that friends of ours had always wanted to invest in a French bistro in Thailand and were on the look-out for the right partners to both invest in and run the restaurant .
With this playing in our minds , we arrived in Bangkok on New Year ’ s Eve . We decided after just a couple hours that this is where we wanted to start our new life chapter . We made a resolution to make it happen and called our friends to say we would do it .
LIVING IN THAILAND
Tell us about your first year in Thailand ? It passed by in a hot humid happy blur ! We knew no one and worked crazy hours to get the restaurant open . It was difficult as we did not know so much about the restaurant business and had no established connections . We had to keep reminding ourselves that we were working on a hugely daunting and challenging project far from home , that we were on a huge learning curve and not be too hard on ourselves , that everything would work out .
