The first thing I noticed was how immaculate everyone is . They really care about their appearance . There were so many different styles of fashion but whatever style they were - goths , office ladies , preppy , surfy – it would be perfectly put together .
I would always wear make-up because I was told that for a woman to walk out of the house without it , is basically like walking out of the house naked . I also started wearing more conservative clothing . In Japan , not many respectable women wear singlet tops or anything that shows much skin .
The Japanese really care about how they look to the public . It might sound superficial but I think it is more about self-dignity and showing
