Childhood Home

My first love of the ‘ home ’ began in the happy family house I grew up in near Nijmegan in the Netherlands . Warm and welcoming , it was perfectly situated at the border of a beautiful forest . It was an utterly idyllic childhood .

A life of many homes

I have set up a ‘ new home ’ for my own family in Malaysia , Thailand , Indonesia , Istanbul and now Düsseldorf in Germany . Having a secure , personal , familiar and comfortable space is crucial to the success of any move . A safe place where you can close the door on the unfamiliar and feel at home no matter where in the world you are .

Passion to profession

I practised law in Amsterdam and interior design was always a hobby . It was when I got pregnant that I started to really focus on design and do the things I loved to do but never had the time for .
I loved getting started on each home and slowly people who admired my work began asking me if I would design their bedroom or living room . I worked hard and it paid off . My houses began to be featured in home magazines and used for commercials . This gave me the self confidence and the courage to set up my own little interior design business HOME REPUBLIK and co-launch NAGA LUCU for imported jewellery and home accessoires .
