Hey Everyone! With the New Year come
new things, new hopes and new dreams.
With a new year, you could (quite possibly)
find hope for a new life. What’s a better way
to start over than a fresh new year? Every
year, there comes an expectation to make
a New Year’s resolution. I never believed in
making one for other people, so I never told
anyone what my change for the New Year
was. Every year, I hoped
something in my life would
change. Sometimes, it
was the situation I found
myself in. Other times, it
was myself as a person.
Whether your
resolution is striving to
raise your grades or
hoping to be happier,
anything is possible in the
New Year. You don’t have
to tell anyone what your
resolution is for 2014,
as long as it’s something
important to you! That’s all
that matters.
I always see the New
Year as a fresh start to try something new
or to become a better person. I want to try
out new things, not just by trying something
I’ve never tried before, but also to discover
(a possible) new side or part of me. This
year, I’m setting up month-by-month goals
to achieve an over the year resolution. My

resolution’s, in the past few years, have been
about becoming a better person. Some
years it was to become healthier and fit, other
years it was be a nicer person. The New Year
always symbolizes a chance to start over.
Being the best person you can be - no
matter what time of the year it is - can help so
many aspects of your life. Being the best you
can be should be for you and no one else.
Don’t aim to be the popular
girl or the girl that gets
invited to the most parties.
If you want to try writing,
try writing. If you want to
be more outgoing, go to
more events at your school.
If you want to become a
better student, study more
and ask for more help to
understand your subjects.
The only thing in life
that matters is who you are
as a person; everything else
is just extra, just frosting on
the cake. Being the best
you can be is the key to
living the life you want to
live, being the person you want to be later
in life. Being the best now may seem like it
has no effect on living the life you want, but
being the person that you would like to be
can make the life you want come sooner and
bring you happiness when it arrives.
