GIRL OF THE MONTH MADDIE DENNISON Maddie is an 18-old-year actress, singer and dancer How has acting, singing and being involved in musical theatre shaped your life thus far? It has honestly made me a more open and confident person than I ever thought I would be. I am so grateful that I have had something like musical theater to discover who I am and the type of person I want to be. I knew going into musical theater that I would have to be vulnerable if I was going to succeed in it and even though it can be scary, learning how to be completely open on-stage has helped me off-stage more than I ever thought it would. What do you feel is one of the biggest pressures for teen girls in today’s society? Have you ever had to deal with this issue? If so, how did you overcome it? Self-image and confidence. Society builds girls up to look and act a certain way, when really you are just destroying the uniqueness that we all have.
