suppliers. Lots of retailers like to use external supply chains because they are a lot more relaxed and suits their style of brand.

There are many advantages to non- integrated supply chains such as there is no time frame, meaning that the products can be released whenever. The companies aren’t in a hurry for their products to be in stores or be delivered.

On the other hand, there are also many disadvantages to external integration such as, as the companies don’t have a time frame and the items are not tracked on their delivery, the customers and the consumers will not know when their items are arriving. Another disadvantage of non-integrated supply chains is that the suppliers do not necessarily know what the customers and consumers want.

I think that retailers like Urban Outfitters and Debenhams use external integrated supply chains because they do not own the suppliers that own the products. Urban Outfitters sell products by Calvin Klein and Adidas, however Urban Outfitter don’t own these brands. This is the same as Debenhams, they sell products by brands such as Radley and Barbour, but they don’t own the brands. Even though the retailers do not own the brands they are still suitable for their target audiences.
