What do we like?
A school survey shows our tastes
CLASSE 1As [SEC]
In our school, there are 93 stu-
dents, 43 girls and 50 boys. Our
class worked in groups of three
or four and we asked questions
in English about food, music,
sport and free time activities to
all the students in the school to
discover our favourites.
As for
food,
there
aren’t
any sur-
prises:
pizza is
our fa-
vourite
food, in
fact 80%
of the
boys and
59% of the
girls in our
school love
it. Pasta is
very popular,
too. Our survey also shows that
we don’t like vegetables: 65%
of the boys and 33% of the girls
hate them, especially broccoli.
And we don’t like fish very much.
In our spare time, we like doing
sports, it’s our favourite free
time activity, but only 31% of
the boys and 29% of the girls in
our school practise a sport regu-
larly. Swimming and volleyball
are very popular sports: 32%
of the girls and 22%
of the boys
like
vol-
leyball; 24% of the boys and 18%
of the girls prefer swimming.
Boys like football too, while
basketball, athletics, gymnastics,
dancing, tennis and martial arts
are not very popular: only one
or two students in our school do
these sports. Finally, 10% of the
students like going roller-ska-
ting.
When we have free time, we
don’t like reading: only 6% of the
students in our
school like rea-
ding books. We
prefer going out
with friends
and listening
to music. We
like pop music
very much: 60%
of the girls and
40% of the boys li-
sten to it every day.
We also like rap and
trap music, but only
a few students listen
to rock, metal and
hip hop
music. Finally, we
don’t like classical music: 74% of
the students never listen to it.

nomy e a un sistema educativo ispi-
rato alle tematiche ambientali.

Due eroi da non dimenticare
cara.
La loro vita finì, ancora una volta insie-
me, a poca distanza di tempo, tra la pri-
mavera e l’estate del 1992. Il 23 Maggio
la mafia uccise in autostrada, a Capaci,
Falcone e, il 17 Luglio, Borsellino, sotto la
casa della sua mamma, utilizzando terri-
bili, potenti esplosivi. Negli attentati mo-
riranno anche la moglie di Falcone e gli
agenti delle scorte.
Alla fine del racconto in classe c’era un
mare di mani alzate per chiedere, saperne
di più, interpretare, capire. Abbiamo di
certo compreso quanto siano stati impor-
tanti il loro lavoro, la loro denuncia delle
ingiustizie, le loro vittorie, il loro pensare,
la loro caparbietà, il loro senso del dove-
re, il loro CORAGGIO. Da questi uomini
è partito il cambiamento; quelle idee non
sono morte, anzi, sono germogliate, han-
no dato vita a una consapevolezza nuova,
soprattutto nei giovani. Maria Falcone,
sorella di Giovanni, ha detto, rivolta ai
ragazzi:” Voi siete la speranza”.
Noi vogliamo esserlo.
