MISS GAVILAN HILLS QUEEN PAGEANT
MARCH 16-17, 2013— You could get a first glance at this year’ s Miss America. The Miss Gavilan Hills and Miss Northern California Regional Competion official primaries are being held at the Gavilan College Theater at 5055 Santa Teresa Boulevard at 4 pm on March 17th. A Princess Program focusing on etiquette and manners for girls 5 through 12 will be held on Saturday, March 16 at Brownell School. In addition to viewing beautiful homes, there’ s a wonderful boutique complete with complimentary appetizers and a no-host wine bar at the conclusion of the tour.
GARLIC FESTIVAL QUEEN PAGEANT
MAY 18, 2013— Pageant begins at 5:00 pm at the Gavilan College Theater. Contestants are judged on personal interview, talent, garlic speech and evening gown. The Queen and her Court represent Gilroy at various festivities leading up to the Festival. They have the opportunity to make guest appearances in local print and electronic media, in parades and at fundraising events. Most importantly, they spend all three days at the festival having a garlicky good time with fellow lovers of the pungent bulb.
