The Gavilan College Child Development Center is unlike any other preschool experience . Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children , the center boasts a state-of the art facility , highly educated staff , and a unique location providing a connection to the facilities , energy , and cultural activities of a college campus .
Philosophy The Gavilan College Child Development Center provides a safe , loving , secure environment that fosters each child ’ s unique cognitive , social-emotional , physical , and language development within a well-planned environment . The program strives to meet both age and developmentally appropriate practices .
Programs In addition to subsidized programs for the children of Gavilan College students , the Gavilan College CDC offers high-quality childcare to the community . Parents seeking a high-quality experience for their preschoolers are encouraged to arrange a facility tour .
Preschool In addition to gaining the skills to build relationships , children prepare for school with skill-building in reading , writing , speaking & listening , mathematics , and science , preparing them for future success in kindergarten and elementary school . Module activities are structured so that children can access the curriculum at their own level of development and expand their knowledge and skill level to move to higher levels of learning .
