Leo Geerlings Business Analyst 594 staff 29 mobiles Nationwide Joined 2012 “We have stores from Whangarei to Invercargill and the coverage is brilliant.” Spotlight is a major retailer specialising in fabrics, crafts and manchester with 18 stores throughout New Zealand. We caught up with their Business Analyst Leo Geerlings to talk about 2degrees and their business. Why does Spotlight need mobiles? And what impact is 2degrees making? We have people that spend a lot of time on the road. Like our buying group that visits vendors and stores, and the consultants for our curtain business. They need to keep in touch so mobile communications is very important to us. The major contribution to our business would be cost savings. Since moving we’ve saved ourselves $1,500 a month, which is about 30% of our total mobile bill. That’s fairly significant given that’s only on 30 connections. Also, we got to keep our numbers, we can share data between various gadgets and we can keep our minutes that we haven’t used for 12 months. The new smartphones caused a lot of excitement too. What was your old provider like? I got the feeling that with our old provider we were being taken for granted. They were difficult to get hold of, if we needed an extra connection it always took weeks before we got any response. And the bill was fairly hefty. Any issues with the network? And how about the service? They’re New Zealand-based so that’s great – you don’t have to talk to someone overseas. In both cases that I had to call them, they answered my queries very quickly and efficiently. We have stores from Whangarei to Invercargill and the coverage is brilliant. We’ve had no loss of coverage [
