The Netherlands, a country in northwestern Europe, is known for a flat
landscape of canals, tulip fields, windmills and cycling routes. Amsterdam, the
capital, is home to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the house where
Jewish diarist Anne Frank hid during WWII.
The Rembrandt House Museum (Dutch: Museum Het Rembrandthuis) is a
historic house and art museum in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Painter
Rembrandt lived and worked in the house between 1639 and 1656. The 17th-
century interior has been reconstructed. The collection contains Rembrandt's
etchings and paintings of his contemporaries. Since 2008, the museum had
around 200,000 visitors per year, with a record number of 237,383 visitors in
2014.
The Vondelpark is a public urban park of 47
hectares (120 acres) in Amsterdam,
Netherlands. It is part of the borough of
Amsterdam-Zuid and situated west from the
Leidseplein and the Museumplein. The park
was opened in 1865 and originally named
Nieuwe Park (English: New Park), but later
renamed to Vondelpark, after the 17th century
playwright and poet Joost van den Vondel.
Yearly, the park has around 10 visitors. In the
park is an open-air theatre, a playground
and several food service facilities. The
Vondelpark Openluchttheater is an open-air
theatre with shows from June until August.
There are performances of classical music,
pop music, world music, dance, musical
theatre, and cabaret. The theatre receives a
subsidy from the city government. And
although all performances have free
entrance, visitors are asked for a donation of
one euro.
Netherlands Game
The Netherlands' mainstream video games market, not taking into consideration the
serious and casual games, is the sixth largest in Europe. The Dutch market takes up
3.95% of the entire European market in total sales and 4.19% in software sales.
In the Netherlands, an estimated of 3,000 people are working in the games industry, at
more than 330 companies.Over 45 of the companies are located in the Dutch Game
Garden, a government subsidized organization with the aim of promoting and
improving the video games industry in the Netherlands.
