The air was chillingly cold that night, wrapping around my bare legs as I walked along the
pavement. I sighed, fiddling with the keys in my pocket. Occasionally I would look behind
me, paranoia setting in. But...I didn’t see anything. Suddenly the air became thick and even
more brutal than before, something I didn’t know was possible. I looked around, waiting
for something to happen. The only movement was from the trees, dancing in the wind. The
ground was rough and uneven, rubbing against my feet. I ask myself now why I didn’t
stop. Nothing seemed… right.
I continued, trying to ignore how much my feet hurt. I was hoping that it would be worth
it, after all I was going to see the biggest movie of the decade. With newfound enthusiasm I
quickened my pace, thinking only about the movie.
“I wonder if…”
Before I could finish my sentence a horrific scream rang from the streets. Panicking now I
whipped around, my hair covering my eyes. Scrambling, I cleared my vision, praying for
my life. I had to force my eyes open, not wanting to see whatever made that unearthly
sound. Eventually they opened.. I wish they didn’t. Before me was this… girl. Her face was
pale and sickly, her dress torn and ragged. The only thing that wasn’t smudged into shades
of grey were her eyes, which were the brightest emerald green. Then ..she.. It spoke.
“Cinema, Cinema, Let’s go to the Cinema. Ghosts in the Cinema.”
