Silence
Beth Chapman, 13
Silence, is the worst sin of all, it can destroy families and lives. In a second of you not
breathing, the monsters that lurk in the peace come out to haunt those who they have
never seen. That’s what I am. One of those monsters that you fear for your life when you
see us, we are always waiting and always watching for another monster to take our place. I
do not care for you and I do not care if I fail. I just wanting to find peace in this little
hell-hole called Earth.
I listen to the sounds of the boys and girls singing or crying themselves to sleep. I can hear
them fall asleep and then silence prevails and you can hear the pin drop that you puny
humans use in so many ways. I can not help myself when they drowse off to their dreams
and I stand waiting for a silent curfew of the teens to become one with night-light and
then I ponce and become the creature that my master created me to be.
You see when we fall asleep our mind lets us dream. Bad or good that's what I feed off. I
watch closely to the young children, and when all their dreams are gone they do not dream
but instead they want dreams. I am one of those children, next time you dream try to keep
dreaming, because you never know, what is about to happen. I warned you. Be careful!
