AGEM September 2024 Meeting Recap
• AGEM recently announced some organizational updates that will see a restructure of its operations , part of which will be the designation of a president and chief executive officer , as well as an elected Board of Directors . Daron Dorsey will become the new president and CEO , and in that role , he will continue to lead AGEM , and be responsible for day-to-day management of AGEM operations , affairs , initiatives and professionals . Bob Parente will now complete his current term of service as chairman of the AGEM Board of Directors and work with the other directors to continue governance oversight of AGEM plans and priorities . AGEM is also developing diversity , equity and inclusion initiatives to expand its board composition to maximize the best gaming industry talent .
• With 30 days until the start of G2E , Korbi Carrison , event vice president for RX , gave AGEM members an update at the September meeting . As of early September , attendee registration is going very well , up 7 percent from the same period in 2023 , with the biggest increase being in Platinum Club attendees , who are operator representatives in key buyer roles , with those tracking at an increase of 15 percent against 2023 . Some new features for this year ’ s show include an improved and updated iGaming Zone , as well as more activities in the G2E Networking Lounge ( see also below in Forthcoming Events ). Another new feature is Collect , a contact tool available through the G2E App , that allows attendees to scan a unique QR code in an exhibitor ’ s booth to register interest or request a follow-up and further information if all the booth team are busy . Also highlighted was the introduction of a new addition to the Good Neighbor Pledge . In answer to exhibitor concerns regarding safeguarding IP in the event of unauthorized photography or video , G2E has initiated a security task force to deal with these types of breaches . Communications will be sent out to exhibitors prior to the show explaining the new reporting features to counteract this abuse and a set of procedures to follow , should they occur .
• Responsible Gaming Education Month ( RGEM ) led by the American Gaming Association saw a raft of events take place during September . AGEM hosted a virtual roundtable and panel discussion with industry experts on September 17 . The webinar was moderated by Connie Jones , AGEM director of responsible gaming , and panel of experts , including Keith Whyte , Jennifer Shatley , Alan Feldman and Ian Shanahan .

• The two worthy recipients of the 2024 AGEM Memorial Awards Honoring Jens Halle and Peter Mead were recently announced . Steve Sutherland , CEO of Konami Gaming , will receive the Jens Halle Award , and Lori Nelson-Kraft , currently senior VP of corporate affairs at Formula 1 Las Vegas , the Peter Mead Award . Both have been key gaming leaders in their fields for decades , and we look forward to recognizing them and presenting the awards at a special event during G2E hosted by AGEM on Wednesday , October 9 at 2 p . m . in the G2E Networking Lounge . All AGEM members and friends are invited to attend the reception and to toast this year ’ s exceptional recipients .

The AGEM Index increased by 78.77 points to 1,502.26 in August 2024 , a 5.5 percent increase from the prior month . Compared to one year ago , the index rose 35.7 percent , or 395.19 points . During the latest month , seven of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases , which resulted in seven positive contributions and five negative contributions to the AGEM Index . The largest positive contributor to the monthly index was Konami Corp . ( TYO : 9766 ), whose 15.2 percent increase in stock price led to a 53.47-point gain to the index . Meanwhile , Aristocrat Leisure Limited ( ASX : ALL ) saw its stock price increase by 0.9 percent , leading to a 29.16-point gain for the index . The largest negative contribution to the index was sourced to Crane NXT , Co . ( NYSE : CXT ), whose 6.6 percent decrease in stock price resulted in a 5.37-point loss to the AGEM Index . In August , all three major U . S . stock indices increased from the prior period . The NASDAQ rose by 3.3 percent over the month , while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 3.5 percent . Meanwhile , the S & P 500 increased by 4.1 percent from the prior month .
