AGEM February 2025 Recap
• At the start of the February meeting , Daron Dorsey , AGEM CEO , announced a new board member , Lauralyn Sandoval , VP of new markets at Aristocrat , who joined the board in place of Tom O ’ Brien with immediate effect .
• The first ICE Barcelona show took place January 20-22 , 2025 . According to Clarion , the show was larger than previous editions , with over 1,000 brands represented across 850 booths to occupy a total of 1.3 million square feet of space , and the transition to Barcelona was widely well-received . While attendance figures are currently undergoing formal auditing , current expectations are between 58,250 and 60,000 attendees , compared to 52,345 in London ( 2024 ), the previous record . The layout of the show by sector was also well received , and although the footprint was larger than the last London event , it was reportedly easier to navigate through the venue . Growth was observed across all key target sectors , including continental Europe , North America , LatAm and Asia , with notable new growth from the UAE and India .
• The AGEM Cocktail Reception took place on Saturday , January 18 at the Aziumuth Rooftop Bar atop Almanac Hotel in the center of Barcelona . The venue provided the perfect location with the added bonus of a spectacular view of the city as well as Gaudi ’ s masterpiece cathedral , Sagrada Familia . It was great to see so many members and friends at the reception to start the show week , and AGEM looks forward to hosting more of these gatherings in the months and years to come .
• A new item that is likely to affect all AGEM members globally , as well as many other industries , was added to the monthly meeting agenda regarding “ USA Trade Policy Outlook for 2024-25 .” There is continuing uncertainty regarding the implications of tariffs and trade conflicts that will affect goods and services across nearly all supply chains . AGEM is monitoring the situation and aims to provide information to its members and provide an industry forum to discuss items monthly . Also , Associate Member KPMG will be hosting a thought leadership seminar on the topic in Las Vegas on March 13 , to discuss trade policy practices , their impacts and risks . This is an issue that will affect the industry for the foreseeable future , and AGEM is focused on providing as much assistance to members as possible .
• Brian Sullivan from Clarion Gaming gave a presentation for the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention that is taking place March 31-April 3 in San Diego , California , first thanking AGEM and its members on behalf of Chairman Ernie Stevens , Jr . for continued support and contributions to the event . Per Sullivan , pre-registration to the event is going well for the San Diego location , which is again proving popular with exhibitors and visitors . Demand for the conference sessions surrounding the show was high as of February , and another returning feature will be the DigitalPlay Summit , now located on the show floor , that will feature exhibits and content sessions focused on iGaming , sports betting and the future of the technology and digital gaming world . Clarion also shared IGA event locations through 2030 , splitting IGA between the popular San Diego Convention Center in 2026 , 2028 and 2030 , and the Las Vegas Convention Center in 2027 and possibly 2029 .

AGEMindex

AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices , systems , lotteries and components for the gaming industry . The association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world . Through political action , trade show partnerships , information dissemination and good corporate citizenship , the members of AGEM work together to create benefits for every company within the organization . Together , AGEM and its member organizations have assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a positive business environment .
The AGEM Index grew by 65.18 points to 1,630 in January , a 4.2 percent gain from the prior month . Compared to one year ago , the index rose 39.5 percent , or 461.9 points . During the latest month , eight of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases , which resulted in eight positive contributions and four negative contributions to the AGEM Index . The largest positive contributor to the monthly index was Aristocrat Leisure Limited ( ASX : ALL ), whose 10.5 percent increase in stock price led to an 81.83-point gain to the index . Meanwhile , Crane NXT , Co . ( NYSE : CXT ) saw its stock price increase by 9.9 percent , leading to a 9.19-point increase for the index . The largest negative contribution to the index was sourced to Agilysys ( NASDAQ : AGYS ), whose 31.5 percent decrease in stock price resulted in a 20.22-point loss to the AGEM Index . In January , all three major U . S . stock indices increased from the prior period . The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 4.7 percent over the month , while the S & P 500 grew by 2.7 percent . Meanwhile , the NAS- DAQ increased by 1.6 percent from the prior month .
