Dwight has been counselling people in the fields of grief, loss, and bereavement for over 20 years. Growing up around death and dying has always been a strong part of Dwight's history and social identity. He has been a licensed funeral director in two provinces, Nova Scotia and Ontario (and has also served as a Divisional Registrar in Nova Scotia, registering deaths for provincial requirements. His work has taken him to assist those who worked through the Swiss Air Crisis of 2002, and eventually to the Distress Centre of Ottawa & Region & the Mental Health Crisis Line.

Dwight has spoken to groups in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and New York about death, dying and clinical considerations when working with this population as clinicians. Dwight also presents to regular professionals in the bereavement industry; the latest and helpful information as it relates to death and dying.
