Fundamental to its entrepreneurial success is a strength of character few other nations could match. New regulations and recent education reforms have created a perfect environment. In the Heritage Foundation’s 2014 Index of Economic Freedom, Rwanda scored five points higher than the world average and ten points higher than the regional average. In the World Bank’s 2014 Ease of Doing Business report, it was ranked ninth – the only African country to make it into the top ten. Part of this success comes from the fact that in 2008, entrepreneurship classes were made mandatory in secondary school.
