Denmark is instilling a sense of enterprise in its young
people from an early age and it is paying dividends
Although entrepreneurship is very much in vogue
in the UK, Youth Business International feels there
is still a lot more to be done to help the next
generation of business creators

Instead of admitting defeat the country resiliently fought for
remembrance and reconciliation
Since the 1994 genocide, Rwanda has
made monumental progress and shown
its irrepressible spirit to the world.
Fundamental to its entrepreneurial
success is a strength of character few
other nations could match.
New regulations and recent
education reforms have created a
perfect environment. In the Heritage
Foundation’s 2014 Index of Economic
Freedom, Rwanda scored five points
higher than the world average and ten
points higher than the regional average.
In the World Bank’s 2014 Ease of Doing
Business report, it was ranked ninth –
the only African country to make it into
the top ten.
Part of this success comes from the fact
that in 2008, entrepreneurship classes
were made mandatory in secondary
school. The result is that students
graduate with the skills to start and run
their own businesses.
