The Silk mill was first set here between 1870 and 1872 by Moisè Vita Jacur a
wealty and rich financial expert from Padua.
After the defeating of pébrine, a contagious disease of the Silkworms, in 1870 Moisè Jacur
thought that it was a good business to set up a Silk Mill in his possessions in the
countryside of Salzano where he owned a Villa.
At that time the Silk Mill of Salzano was one of the most cutting edge for its machineries and
the techniques used to produce Silk.
The Silk Mill was one of the most important in Veneto andabout 250 people worked there.
