Here
I Go
Dear Mexico,
It was back in those good old days when the idea of humanity was completely different from what it is today. Around the 6th century BCE, I was born in Athens. Throughout human history, I started to reproduce into different branches, being adopted in different ways. My kids, my sons, my daughters, and their children, are overthrowing the world. Conquering places that seemed unknown and impossible to even think to reach those locations. They are eradicating authoritarian regimes, erasing the memory of Karl Marx and his “Communist Manifesto” and re-borning the idea of
the self-governing people.
I consider myself the responsible of creating chaos for the hope of harmony. Human history, human present, and human future are on my hands. What happened after World War II during the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union was a parallel consequence of my existence. I’ve created wars, started up revolts and revolutions, and as a collateral damage, killed millions of civilians. I am totally aware of the consequences of my birth and my legacy in the world, but I am sure that what I bring and the outcomes of my presence are effective and very positive, of course, if
they follow my ideals.
Like in every aspect that relates the reality of mankind, you can’t be adored and idolized by every single human being. This is also my case. Nations like the United States worship me, but in places like North Korea, I can’t even be named. There is no existing society, community or country, that has successfully adopt me. It is important that you understand, that I have tried my best to visit all the world, travel to those places where the
idea of me being there seems impossible.
I am here to encourage you, to follow me, grab my hand and never let me go. I know horrible things have happened, ups and downs in your political lifestyle, waves of corruption and unfair elections. This is the past, that is history, but today is today, and progressive change is always
possible.
Forget about those who contradicted my ideas such Lázaro Cárdenas, Manuel Ávila Camacho, Miguel Alemán, Adolfo López Mateos, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, Luis Echeverría, José López Portillo, Miguel de la Madrid, Carlos Salinas de Gortari, Ernesto Zedillo and once again, Enrique Peña Nieto. These people do not only represent one of your most powerful political
parties but also built up and refine the idea of an oligarchy.
