EVALUATION

Overall in the project I found that I understood, everything I needed to do and complete for my deadline. I found that my organisation skills with the work load was really good and planning my time to do certain tasks helped me a lot. Completing my smart targets each week at the right time so that I knew what tasks I had to complete each week helped me organise what work I had done and need to do. I overall found my sketchbook a lot easier to complete than my Joomag. I found that because I did art GCSE I was used to the whole sketchbook tasks and completed each page always on time or even early. I spent many hours on each sketchbook pages and completed them to the best of my ability. I think I made my sketchbook very creative by making every page have a different feel and layout to it and by also using different materials and paint. Writing my own opinions in my sketchbook and information written down, exploring different trends and what influenced them worldwide, presented that I knew what I was talking about. Because I finished early I went further into choosing what interested me which was different trends. So I did a few pages on current A/W 2016 trends around the world for men and women and future trends for A/W 2018/19, I collected this information on the website WGSN.

I found Joomag harder to get along with however I did well coming up with an overall theme which was quite simple and based around street style. Because I used a lot of magazines to get inspiration I think that my magazine looks like an actual magazine.

Using good quality images and videos in my Joomag helped support my writing and articles. I think that my articles are interesting to read because of the informative chatty style and also including adverts in my magazine allows it to look like an actual magazine. I created different videos for my get the looks, they each have a different mood and style, this showed each get the look differently. I bought the books, Retailing: An introduction by Roger Cox and Fashion Retailing: A Multi-Channel Approach by Ellen Diamond. This recalled helped me with my glossary and understanding what different terms meant. Watching documentaries like the secrets of Selfridges and the Liberty of London allowed me to complete my sketchbook pages of each department store.

Things that I could of done better include, using and Joomag earlier and starting my assignment earlier, this is because I had to keep going back to pages to change them because I didn't like the layout and I didn't know how to use Joomag. This might of meant that I could have finished earlier and had more time checking my work. Reading more books and watching more movies on different categories would have helped my understanding instead of relying on my class work for my information. Starting a new job this month has also meant that I haven’t of had much time to do my college work, although I did find time to complete my work, I think that I would have had a lot more time if I didn’t have work. I didn’t have time to visit Dover Street market if I did I could have done an extra sketchbook page on that. The last thing I could have done is whilst recapping lessons I could of written more and extra notes on the slideshows.
