Independent retailers are businesses that are kown to be privately owned. They are usually though of as single-store operations and in addition are responsible for there own businesses. Despite having the power to make there own decisions about everything that goes on, the business could easily fail as there are numerous amounts of risks involved. Examples of such businesses include: Wilkinsons and Clarks.

High Street retailers:

High street retailers are knwon to usually be affordable to the general public. There are different levels of high street stores and this would normally depend on where the store was located. The stores are not usually independently owned and as a result usually are in chains. Examples of these stores would be: Primark and Zara, which still both aim two different types of people.

There are hundreds of different types of retail stores open now a days. The most common ones are the ones shown and are shopped in everyday.

Department stores:

Department stores are stores that conatin many concessions within it. THey sell a variety of goods within the stores and are normaly located in a prime location such as a shopping centre/ park or the main town. Examples of such businesses would be: Fenwick, John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams.
