and we all really liked the styles. I found the 20’s extremely elegant and original. Lace on dresses was seen a lot and I think is extremely beautiful. I also like the way that corsets were no longer being worn during this era because many people died from them. They died because the corsets were way to tight around the women’s waist and had the potential to suffocate them. Hair was always worn up and I think this showed off a lot of beauty. Hats were also worn for women and men; they were a key fashion accessary. The 20’s was also known as ‘The Jazz era.’ Jazz music evolved during this era and became extremely popular!
I think our video that I edited informs viewers very well what eras are our favourites and exactly why they are our favourite eras. We each stated our favourite eras and went on to other conversations about different eras so that viewers who don’t know about decades now do know. The viewers to this video will find out some key facts about each of the decades we spoke about. At the end of our video, which was filmed in the V&A, we asked random people what their favourite decade was and why. We found out that the most popular decade was the 60’s because of makeup, rock and rock, and Independence. I think that all of the eras are important in their own ways and they each helped create our wonderful fashion styles which we now have today, 2016.
The three main decades that myself, Ashlea, Sarah and Abbie chose to speak about was the 50’s, 60’s, and the 20’s. We chose to speak about the 50’s because I said that it was the rebellious Era; the era that individuals spoke out freely and dressed the way that they wanted to dress not the way that their parents told them to. This era was also known as the teenage era, it was dominated by teens. Rock and roll was also in its peak during the 50’s and I do like rock and roll music. The fashion during the 50’s was just amazing; I like styles that occurred during this period. This decade has affected fashion significantly helping it evolve into something beautiful. The 60’s was just like the 50’s but I feel like it was even more free. As the decades go by I feel like everybody gets more independent, and I like this. Great movies like Grease, dirty dancing and ghost were set in the 50’s/60’s and these are three of my favourite movies. I like the way men and women dress during that time. The men and women during the 60’s dressed really in fashion. In my opinion I think this is the best decade for fashion styles. Throwing it back to the 1920’s, we really saw a difference in the way men and women dressed. Suits were an everyday thing for men who were high in society and long gowns were worn by women. We really liked this decade because we thought it is fascinating to see what fashion used to look like
