MISSGUIDED ANNOUNCES BADDIE IN TOWN
The online store Missguided.co.uk has chosen an 88-year-old grandmother to be the face of their 2016 Christmas campaign, rather than a 20-something year old party girl. The social media star Baddie Winkle is famous for her extravgantley-outgoing and bold fashion sense.
The use of this older style icon (as well as middle-aged actress Pamela Anderson in their previous campaign )was was the brand's attempt to involve more diversity in the advertisement of their products and ultimately to pose the question; 'who says you can't slay at any age?'.
Lonely Lingerie- a brand based in New Zealand hired nine real women (not necesarily models) of different body sizes and skin colours for their new campaign. What's special about this campaign is that they did not re-touch a single photo from the shoot. The designer for Lonely, Helene Morris, called these girls "independant women who can collectively say they are proud to be themselves".
