MitracarpusScaber Extract
This extract is derived from the leaves of this tropical plant and the
active ingredient that produces the bleaching is harounoside, a
substance derived from hydroquinone. This extract acts in a similar
way as the previous two substances: it inhibits the tyrosinase and
prevents excessive production of melanin, which will eventually result
in a discoloration of the skin. MitracarpusScaber extract has not been
reported to have side effects like to hydroquinone.
Beta Carotene
Beta carotene is another ingredient which has been successfully
used in the cosmetic industry for skin bleaching. It inhibits the
tyrosinase receptors present in the melanocyte, thus stopping the
production of melanin. You can find beta carotene in carrot oil.
