I put in just as many hours away from my regular job as I do while on the clock, but I have found that the projects I invest my time in provide me more satisfaction and pleasure. I can easily put in twelve hours standing up on a movie set and walk away feeling refreshed and rewarded, even if it is not a monetarily compensated gig. Because these are my dreams, I find a way to push through the fatigue and rise early on my days off.
I am grateful for my full time professional life, but I thrive on what happens after I clock out. Nothing excites me like pouring out my ideas and the feedback I receive, especially positive feedback. I am happiest when writing and filmmaking, and I easily find motivation for that. Time, on the other hand, becomes harder and harder to find, but that just lets me know that I am on the right track.
