sessions aimed at creating new opportunities and solutions for offenders as they leave prison and remain under supervision in the community.

The Georgia Department of Community Supervision was again the host agency for the successful event. Deputy Executive Director for the Parole Board, Rita Rocker represented the agency on the state agency panel discussion on reentry.

Rocker discussed the partnership between parole and corrections through the performance incentive credit program (PIC). Eligible state inmates who complete programming to include educational programs and some work details may earn the credits known as PIC. The Department of Corrections sends to the Parole Board the information on the offender. The Board then determines if it will move up the inmate's parole release. The program promotes program completion and preparing the offender for release and success after release.

The reentry summit brought more than 700 stakeholders, partners and guests to the Gwinnett Infinite Energy Center in Duluth. Breakout sessions covered reentry areas to include housing and employment.
