Parole Board Member Jacqueline Bunn told the inmates, "We don't want to keep people forever, but we are concerned about public safety and at the end of the day you have to make good choices for yourself."

For his part Gainey says, “I just want to get out there and show the world I can do better.”

Vice Chairman Mills told Gainey that the Board and other inmates are counting on him to succeed.

Board and staff visit prisons

Parole Board Members and senior parole staff continue to visit state prisons talking to inmates about what is expected from them if they want to be paroled. Recent visits included Lee Arrendale State Prison, one of two female correctional facilities in the state and the Hi-Max unit at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification prison in Jackson.
