Georgia Parole Review Fall/Winter 2016/2017 | Page 4

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles invited crime victims to Milledgeville in October to meet with the Board. More than 200 victims and family members attended. One hundred offender cases were opened by the Board which represented the victims who attended. Crime victims and family members are able to discuss the inmate's parole status with the Parole Board Members at the Victims Visitors' Day. If not registered, victims can be registered with the Georgia Office of Victim Services. By registering, victims receive information when the offender in their case is being considered for a parole release. The event was held in conjunction with the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Victim-Witness Assistance Office and District Attorney Stephen Bradley. Read more about the Milledgeville Victim Visitors' Day.
