Bunn named to Commission on family Violence

Parole Board Member Jacqueline Bunn was sworn in on August 15, 2018, by Governor Nathan Deal as a member of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence.
"It is a tremendous honor to serve on a commission that does such important work for the citizens of Georgia. Domestic violence impacts every region of this state, every age, and every socioeconomic level. I am excited to contribute my efforts to make our state safer for the most vulnerable,” said Bunn.
Bunn will continue full time as a member of the Parole Board while serving as a member of the commission.
The commission meets quarterly and works to educate and raise awareness about family violence in Georgia. The commission evaluates services, researches the need for additional services and offers and monitors proposed legislation concerning family violence. Bunn was appointed to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles in 2016 to complete an unexpired term. She was reappointed by Governor Deal to a full term on the Parole Board in December of 2016.
Bunn began her career with the state of Georgia in 1997 as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Section for the Georgia Department of Law. She handled hundreds of cases involving the Department of Corrections and the State Board of Pardons and Paroles in state and federal courts, from the trial level through the appellate process to the United States Supreme Court. Bunn also served as Deputy Director in the Legal Services Unit of the Georgia Department of Public Safety. In 2013, she was appointed by Governor Deal as the Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). Bunn is a member of the Henry Toll Fellowship Program Class of 2016.
