but also for our children . Whether your child
is coming to be of a certain age , or you simply
wish to re-evaluate their present school placement
, many of you will be reviewing educational
options for your children in an effort to
educate your children in the best possible way .
It ’ s a given that children need to learn , and that
most kids , when left to their own devices , will
learn much of what they are exposed to . But
will they learn to their highest potential if they
are not placed in an optimal learning environment
? The looming question is — which one ?
Will they learn best in a public school or a
private school ? If public or private , specifically
which school ?
There is a abundance of information out there lauding every educational opportunity . Ultimately , you ’ ll have to trust yourself to make the final decision based on the specific needs of your child and by the method of school comparisons . Central Georgia has oodles of options , so you just have to ask some questions like : What is each school ’ s culture ? What are their ethical standards ? Who makes up the school population and the teaching staff ? What and how do they teach ? What method of discipline does the school practice ? How does the school ’ s academic performance compare to others in the community , in the state , and in the nation ? What happens to the students after being educated there ? Finally , for older kids , consider how much input are you going to allow them to have in selecting a school ?
If you decide a private education is best for your family , we hope you will be able to use Georgia Family as a resource by perusing the articles , featured school profiles , and school directories in answering these questions .
