Playhouse 38 Tech Week Production Assistantship Ages 11+ 7 Classes This program is for those interested in the technical side of theatre. Participants will assist our production team with various tasks and projects during tech week, from ensuring props and set pieces are in place, to learning how to run lights and sound. The Reality of Doing Workshop Ages 13-17 1 Class This workshop focuses on the foundational skill that every actor needs to master – listening! Actors will learn and practice how to respond to others on stage and demonstrate evoking emotions naturally. Teen Workshops Emotional Preparation Workshop Ages 13-17 1 Class Do you fake emotion on stage, or do you REALLY feel it? Why is real emotion critical for a performance? How do you prepare for the emotion at the top of a scene? These questions and more will be answered in this workshop. This workshop aims at helping actors get comfortable with the stressful process of auditioning. Actors will learn how to mentally prepare, analyze and prepare sides, how to own the room, and more. Each act will get up to five minutes to set-up and perform. This event provides a fun and supportive environment without months of scheduled preparation and practices. Submissions for acts begins in December. A limited amount of performance slots are available, so sign up today! All acts must register by January 22.
