On the other hand, as is the case all over the world, violence against women constitutes one of the
most important problematic areas. There is an ongoing intensive work to translate into practice the
necessary legal arrangements made in problematic areas. Within this framework, there is an effort
devoted to reflect such legal arrangements into practice through various regulations, circulars and
directives. The Regulation on the Implementation of the Law on the Protection of the Family as well
as Prime Ministry circular No 2006/17 on “Acting in line with the Principle of Equality in Personnel
Acquisition” could be cited as examples of such developments. In addition, importance is attached
to some necessary special measures as well as encouraging measures, yet, to reflect laws into
practical implementation.
The “Conditional Cash Transfer” application, as mentioned in details in the second section, the
provision on the payment of social security premiums (SSK) of women above 18 years old to be
borne by the State for 5 years, mentioned under poverty and economy section, are some of the
relevant striking examples.
