of Glynn County, National Preparedness Month and
all campaigns are a joint effort between his EMA team
and local elected and appointed officials. “Sunny days
prepare us for the rainy days,” said Wiggins. “One thing
that makes us successful is we function as one team,
speak to our citizens with one voice, and have one
mission: to keep all of our citizens safe.”
During National Preparedness Month, GEMA/HS
will be working with county EMAs like Wiggins, as
well as city and county leaders and other state partners
to further the preparedness message across multiple
channels. “Preparedness is the first step to mitigating a
disaster,” said Howden. “Being prepared makes people,
and their communities, more resilient.” ■
