“CATCH THE FUTURE ”ACTIVITY PLAN
PREFACE
In these days when we knock at the door of the future, it is more important than ever to include the
requirements of the era in the education process. The world is changing, transforming at an unprecedented
speed. The countries that can catch this wind are the countries that produce and direct the technology and, most
importantly, successfully combine it with the education system. Nowadays, the skills gained in this field have
become beyond necessity and become a necessity. So much so that competence in these fields, from economy
to technology, defense industry, and even leading the way, is essential for the survival of countries.
Before many countries in the world integrated into the industry 4.0, the race moved to the next stage and the
industry came up to 5.0. Now the most sensitive subject of this century, which is fed with more information
than the sum of the past millennia, is education. Many countries are investing in the education systems of the
21st century, while humanity is preoccupied with smart machines. In order to compete with the world in this
process, countries want to turn children into producing individuals applying technology from the earliest age.
In this direction, it has been a very important target for all countries to develop and implement national
education policies that will train individuals who have acquired 21st century skills. As İzmir Provincial
Directorate of National Education, we are in trouble of writing our own story with self-confident individuals
who capture change and development while competing with the world. For this purpose, Catch the Future
”project aims to use STEM as a tool to produce an adequate and qualified education approach to acquire
