The word hydraulics come from the greek word “Hudraulikos” which is a
combination of “hudro” (water) and “aulos” (pipe). Hydraulics is the scientific study of
the mechanic behaviors of fluids. Using the hydraulic energy of the fluid many different
systems and constructs are powered. Hydraulic energy is converted to different kinds of
mechanical energy.

Hydraulic systems are used in many fields in our daily life. Steering wheels on
cars , brake mechanisms , elevators , every step in the production industry , agricultural
equipment etc.
