“CATCH THE FUTURE ”ACTIVITY PLAN Subject start up activities https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXnCMVKVjOI -Students’ attention is attracted by projecting the video of a Turkish-Islam scholar Takuyiddin (the image and link as stated above). - After watching the video, by asking “What features should scientists have?”, students are asked to think versatilely and have a brainstorming activity. - Answers taken from students are written directly on the board without giving a true or false feedback. - Later on, the answers on the board are questioned with the students and the teacher until only correct answers are left. -The reasons of scientific developments in Islamic geography is taught by the teacher in the lesson. -Turkish-Islam scholars’ study of work is told by the teacher by a power point presentation which is prepared via images beforehand. Learning process - The students are divided into groups in order to make a small group study. And it is asked to choose a scientist that each group will represent. -Separate tables are prepared for each group. -Students are asked to design a hat using construction paper. - Students are asked to enrich their hat creations via images and writings by using the scientists’ features that they are going to represent.
