This is the true story of a once-upon-a-time homeless kid bred in the South Bronx, who grew to establish himself within the underground hip hop community as Sicko The Main Thing. He is respectfully recognized today by his intriguing accapellas, brushed-up song capabilities, mixtape collaborations and outstanding stage performances. This youngman accepted the hustle of the entertainment industry early on, and began climbing the ladder quickly. Let me take you back to the beginning of his music career. He began his professional journey in the music industry in 1996, when he inked his first recording deal. During that era, Sicko was partnered with another hip hop artist to form a group called The Darkside Mob. It was then that he was granted the opportunity to witness fortunes outside of poverties illustration. Traveling the states and sharing the spotlight with dominating hip hop stars such as Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan, Fat Joe, etc. This young lyricist stood behind his name with honor... Sicko The Main Thing. This young lyricist stood behind his name with honor... Sicko The Main Thing. After years of encountering war scars and establishing relationships across a widespread of Bronx hoods, the ordinary hood conflictions with lack of prospective ambition no longer struck his interest. “I was burying triple the amount of friends than I was supporting. So I chose to apply that same dedicated energy to a totally different lifestyle”. Sicko was maturing, and loving every minute of it.
By 2005, Sicko decided to rub shoulders in the music industry once again. Within 2 years of networking independently, he was embracing successes of his own corporation. Successes that include collaborations with established entertainers. I’m talking about entertainers that include the likes of DJ Envy & DJ Kast One both of Hot 97, French Montana of Konvict Music, DJ Bedz of Shadyville / the official stadium DJ for The Denver Nuggets, as well as many other powerful collaborations. Not long after establishing a name within the underground hip hop community, he recorded his first single titled “Let It Rain” featuring Tony Sunshine of the Terror Squad. That was officially his first independent project to be sold in the I-Tunes store, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, and more. Shortly after that, write-ups, showcases and radio appearances followed. From 2006 until late 2008, Sicko worked hard enough as an independent businessman to be appreciated through private-party invitations from major record label executives. He generated a media and supported it with dominating performances. Performances that drew the attention of the school board, which ultimately landed him the opportunity to share a stage in middle school auditoriums alongside state senators and lecturers. From the Bronx Public School's, to The National Black Theatre of Harlem, down to Times Square, and even heavily throughout some surrounding cities, he earned the attention of a huge fan base. His name accumulated so much buzz that he began to collaborate with established musicians, producers and DJ's of different states By late 2008, Sicko took a long break from the hip hop grind in an attempt to focus on a new career. He developed the desire to become an author, all for hopes purpose. So he wrote, and wrote, and wrote. The more he jotted down the depth of whatever subtopic he ascended from, the more he realized… "I Am Destined For Greatness". But there's much more to this author/musician's history than what the media has come to know from an entertained perspective... Much more
