model. Now that I have a good sense about both, I can really
get to work. This means providing input to several committees,
including the PE@PF committee, the equipment committee and
others. I also vet potential vendors and partners, particularly
those focused on technology and programming. I’m also working
to standardize our fitness training operations, and I routinely
respond to media inquiries as they come in. This is certainly not
an exhaustive list, but hopefully it gives you an idea of what I’m
spending my time on.
Can you provide an update on progress with
PE@PF?
We’re making inroads with regard to new equipment, better
program scheduling, new spaces for functional training, technology-enabled member experience solutions, additional revenue
streams and a better fitness-focused onboarding process for new
members.
From your view, what are some of the biggest
challenges for the brand and franchisees?
By far the biggest challenge for all of us will be figuring out
how to innovate our member experience without losing sight of
who we are and what we stand for as a brand. There will need to
be give-and-take to make this happen, but this is not an insurmountable obstacle.
What are your goals for your first year in this
position?
My primary goal is to test several different concepts, ideas
and initiatives in the club, measure their success, and then create
a roll-out and adoption plan for those that are deemed appropriate for the system as a whole.
What are your favorite things about the PF
brand?
The people I’ve met are really the secret sauce of the PF
brand. There are so many passionate corporate staffers, franchisees, managers, trainers and support staffers. These folks care
about what happens to this company, which speaks volumes.
This is what really gets me fired up!
What are three things people would be
surprised to know about you?
I spent many college nights in dance clubs. Despite being a
registered dietitian, I love sweets. I can name all the prepositions
in the English language in less than 10 seconds.
I’ve been married to my wife, Becky, for 13 years, and
we have three kids: Megan (10), Lily (9) and Chase (6). I also
have a black poodle named Zoe and my daughter has two
hermit crabs. I’m a big sports fan, and given that I was born
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I’m a cheesehead to the core. That
said, if I retired tomorrow, you would have to drag me from the
tennis court. G
