New Year. New Programs. New Equipment. Improved Retention! T he beginning of a new year, it’s great practice to reflect on what you’ve accomplished, focus on where you are and determine your plan for the future. The PE@PF Committee has a lot to communicate with each of you! 2017 was a busy year. • We effectively launched new PF360 programs for all configura- tions of the Life Fitness Synergy 360. • We upgraded the Trainer Playbook, which is a “bible” to give your trainers the tools they need to succeed. • We successfully piloted TRX as our functional training solution. • We determined effective and affordable storage solutions. • We successfully rolled out LF Rowers and SciFit ergometers, as well as SciFit seated steppers. • We shared best practices for trainer standardization and certifica- tion amongst zees to help create a consistent member experience. • We’ve added Jeff Helfgott, Jonny Jost and Justin Alleman to the PE@PF Committee! Special thanks to Tim Lennon, Chris Klebba and David Bidwell who are no longer on the PE@PF Committee due to other commitments. Currently, we are: • Continuing to test PF360 tools such as a timer, station numbers, blackboard and markers. • Preparing for TRX and storage solution rollout. 20 • Preparing for a new fitness mat option that has a seven-year warranty. • Preparing to test future equipment options. • Preparing for a first-ever Trainer Summit at this year’s conference in Las Vegas! We plan to: • Continue to explore options (i.e. digital) to enhance the member experience. • Continue to explore potential revenue-generating options from our fitness/wellness delivery. • Continue to explore ways to separate us from the competition. The secret sauce is to preserve the unique core of the Planet Fitness® brand as we remain committed to change while intention- ally enhancing the member experience and improving retention. According to IHRSA’s Member Retention report, the more we help to connect members to members in our free group training classes, the longer each member will stay. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Brian Zehetner at PFHQ, Dave Leon, CJ Bouchard or me. Cheers to a new year! Lynne Brick , B.S.N.
