On Jan. 30, Anchor Management Group Inc. opened the doors to its new South Carolina location. The grand-opening celebration featured live music from local musicians, food trucks, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a $ 2,000 donation to the Charleston Animal Society.
Despite an ice storm that hit Cornwall, Canada, late last year, Taymax Group Acquisition, LLC still held the grand-opening celebration for its newest PF location. Three local newspapers covered the ribbon-cutting event and Councilor of Cornwall Justin Towndale, as well as Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club Jacquie Richards, were in attendance. Workout sessions led by Danni Allen, pizza, cupcakes and raffle prizes were available to attendees.“ Taymax’ s philosophy on grand openings is to celebrate our members, our staff and the local community,” said Pam Fitzgerald, marketing director for Taymax.“ We create an environment that is festive and inclusive but doesn’ t deter our new members from enjoying their best Planet workout.” G

Excel Fitness Completes Boys & Girls Club Fitness Room Makeover in One Day

The Excel Fitness PF team worked hard to transform a Boys & Girls Club weight room into a bright, fun Judgement Free Zone.

Last December, the North Mabee Boys & Girls Club weight room was in drastic need of a makeover, and Excel Fitness’ Tulsa, Oklahoma, location didn’ t hesitate to lend a helping hand.

“ We put in the work from 8:30 a. m. to 6 p. m.,” said Brandon Sebald, regional director with Excel Fitness.“ The hard work paid off as it came out beautiful!”
With the help of Planet Fitness ® corporate, around a dozen Tulsa PF ® employees donated their time and energy to change the Boys & Girls Club weight room into a colorful Judgement Free Zone ®, complete with eight sets of cardio equipment, new rubber mats, extensive cleaning and a PF“ You Belong” sign, all of which were donated by Michael Turner’ s Excel Fitness. The group even gave the gym a fresh coat of paint.
On Jan. 24, the new Judgement Free Zone was opened to the public, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, food, free PF swag and a mini workout session for the kids provided by Planet Fitness trainers. In attendance were local board members and the CEO of the local Boys & Girls Club.
“ At the end of the day, it was a fun experience for our employees,” said Sebald.“ The Boys & Girls Club was grateful and shocked to see what we got done in one day. Seeing some of the kids’ faces filled with excitement after the refresh was well worth it. Now thousands of local kids and adults will be able to utilize this space on their fitness journey! It was another great example of Excel Fitness giving back to the community and something we can all feel good about as a company.” G
