From June 5-8 , the franchisee community came together at the Grand Hyatt in the heart of Nashville , Tennessee , for the 2023 PFIFC Franchisee Convention , setting the bar even higher by welcoming a remarkable 637 attendees , the second consecutive record-breaking event for the PF Independent Franchisee Council ( PFIFC ). The convention provided special time for franchisees across the system to gather and exchange insights on every facet of operating a Planet Fitness ® business .
The convention kicked off Monday with a meeting of the PFIFC Board of Directors and registration opening to attendees in the afternoon . In the evening , franchisees and vendors were invited to the Icons of Music City opening reception on the pool deck overlooking Broadway to mingle with one another and Elvis , Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash impersonators .
Wednesday started bright and early , with a 5K run / walk tour of Music City , offering a refreshing and exciting way to see the sights , followed by breakfast outside the Grand Hall . General session opened with a captivating fireside chat between outgoing PFIFC President Pete Hopkins and Planet Fitness Division President , U . S . Franchise Bill Bode . The dynamic duo discussed the brand ’ s strategy and aspirations for the year ahead .

Attendees at the PFIFC Franchisee Convention started the first full day of the event with a 5K run / walk tour of downtown Nashville . quality time to peruse the trade show , attendees congregated once more at general session to hear author Gabe Karp share his insights on “ Embracing Productive Conflict ,” which he explores in his book “ Don ’ t Get Mad at Penguins : And Other Ways to Detox the Conflict in Your Life and Business .” Afterward , attendees had several educational and relevant breakout sessions to consider , including topics from HR , marketing , operations and store development . The 2023 PFIFC Franchisee Convention Continues Breaking Records
The 2023 PFIFC Convention in Nashville saw an impressive turnout of more than 635 attendees , making it the largest event to date .

After breakfast on Thursday , franchisees assembled for the PFIFC Annual Meeting , where they heard updates from Hopkins , PFIFC Executive Director Kristi Hoffman and PFIFC Legal Counsel Mark Dady , followed by a Q & A session with members of the Government Relations Committee and the Brand Operating Committees . Then , keynote speaker Ben Nemtin shared his inspirational story of “ Making the Impossible Possible ,” encouraging attendees to cross experiences off their bucket list and start living their best lives today .
Franchisees had a final opportunity to attend the trade show before the afternoon breakout sessions . For topics , franchisees could join sessions on successfully navigating remodels ; tactics to retain talent ; facilities maintenance and repair ; GM time management ; marketing best practices ; estate and tax planning ; maximizing growth and incentivizing your teams ; and small operator roundtables on various topics . The Denim and Diamonds Closing Event capped the convention , where attendees showed off their bling and best dance moves at Luke ’ s 32 Bridge on Broadway .
