from the Commonwealth against
the ever present landscape
of East London’s Docks and

Last seen at Dancing City in
2011, Pied en Sol returns with a
new outdoor dance performance
exploring seasonal change and
transformation. Created as a
roving dance performance for four
dancers and a specially designed
mobile structure, Spring features
this whimsical French company’s
hallmark fusion of dance and
music, leading audiences through
the four seasons by way of four
short, linked performances,
popping up on a very unusual
dance journey.

Founded by Cassa Pancho
in 2001, Ballet Black has an
enviable track record for creating
high quality performances
which introduce ballet to new
audiences. As previous Dancing
City audiences will know, outdoor
classical ballet at Canary Wharf
is a very special experience, so
Two of a Kind promises to be a
“must see” highlight of this year’s
programme. In this new, romantic
piece by Christopher Marney
with music by Tchaikovsky
and Ravel, pas de deux by two
duetting couples tells the story of
the unfolding tender and playful
journeys of lovers.

Greenwich Stories from

This Polish theatre spectacular recalls all
those refugees and displaced people who

with memories of home. With stunning
staging which includes flame-lit structures
which move through the audience and a
giant winged ship, this production packs an
emotional punch in delivering a universal
story which will also be the finale of this
year’s GDIF.

anniversary of the assassination of Archduke
Ferdinand in Sarajevo in 2014, the event that
rapidly escalated into the outbreak of the
