OFFICER MURPHY , COLWELL PROBATION DETENTION CENTER
Officer Murphy has been employed with the GDC at Colwell PDC for over 25 years . Murphy embodies the true spirit of leading by example by mentoring staff and detainees . He has an excellent work ethic and always goes the extra mile to assist other staff and detainees . His willingness and dedication , coupled with his mentoring skills , reflect his commitment to the agency . Officer Murphy has excellent customer service skills and always greets people with a smile and a can-do attitude . His impact has a positive and lasting effect on everyone . We appreciate everything Officer Murphy has done for the GDC .
SERGEANT SHINHOLSTER , BALDWIN STATE PRISON
Sergeant ( Sgt .) Shinholster has been employed with the agency for 23 years and is currently a Sgt . at Baldwin SP . Sgt . Shinholster is an active member of the TACT Squad , is organized and helpful , and never complains nor stops giving 100 % effort in everything she does . Shinholdter sets an example daily at the facility , and her experience and dedication often make her the go-to person for information and questions . Her determination goes above and beyond expectations and embraces the GDC team and the agency ’ s mission .
OFFICER HOLLAND , ROGERS STATE PRISON
Officer Holland began her career in corrections 20 years ago and currently works at Rogers SP . Recently , she observed individuals attempting to throw contraband over the facility fence . She quickly made the required notifications , and the staff promptly responded to her call . As a direct result of her quick action , local law enforcement was able to intercept the contraband . The contraband consisted of marijuana , a white powdery substance , unknown pills , tobacco , lighters , charger blocks , chargers , and earbuds . Due to Officer Holland ’ s diligence and observance , the three suspects were apprehended by Tattnall County Sheriff ’ s Department .
LIEUTENANT FLOYD , HANCOCK STATE PRISON
Lieutenant ( Lt .) Floyd began his career with the Georgia Department of Corrections in 2008 at Hancock State Prison , where he currently serves . During his 14-year tenure , he has consistently had the best attendance among the supervisors . He is often referred to as the facility ’ s “ One Call that ’ s All ,” as he continually assists with other shifts as needed . He truly exemplifies service before self , is a team player , and continues exceeding his department ’ s expectations . He firmly believes that hard work pays off and is the epitome of a true leader . We recognize Lt . Floyd and his commitment to the agency and Hancock State Prison .
