Course Outline
Pupils taking A Level Further Mathematics MUST take A Level Mathematics as well.
The AS Level Further Mathematics follows the same principles as the standard Mathematics course.
Students are required to take the Further Pure 1 module and two applied modules from either:
Mechanics, Statistics or Decision Mathematics.

Complex numbers, Newton-Raphson method,
Parabolas and rectangular hyperbola, Matrices,
Summation of series and proof by induction.
(33.3% of AS, 16.67% of A2 Level)
A2 - Further Mathematics
Further Pure 2
Inequalities, Summation of series by method of
differences,
Further
complex
numbers,
Differential equations, Taylor series and Polar
coordinates.
(16.67% of Total A Level)
