Continued... But they were people who always had a trick up their sleeve. Both of them had taken out their army knives and had started to frenziedly saw away at their ropes. It took a long time as the ropes were pinning their hands to their bodies very, very, very tightly.
They finally cut their way through- and just in the nick of time, too, as the flames were already licking their ankles! They then started to scramble up the poles, hoping against hope that the poles wouldn ‟ t fall over. They soon reached the top, and both of them made a frantic leap towards the trees!
Kevin and Mike, who had both safely reached the shelter of a very large tree, now began to swing from tree to tree. Soon, the shouts of the cavemen died out and they found themselves at the edge of the clearing. They leapt down and ran to the safety of their force field- but not before collecting a huge amount of fruits to feast on.
The sun had risen by then and the brothers spent the next two hours greedily gobbling up the mangoes, apples and tangerines that they had collected. They finished half of their delicious meal and then decided to have a small catnap to refresh themselves.
By the time they woke up, it was noon but the sun was nowhere to be seen. Huge storm clouds were covering the whole sky, blocking any light from the sun. In a few moments, it had started to rain cats and dogs and huge bolts of lightning streaked across the dull, grey sky. But the two brothers were lying comfortably inside the warmth and dryness of their shield.
“ Do you think this force field can hold up against that lightning?” asked Mike worriedly.
“ Don ‟ t worry. This shield can fend off any attack, be it lightning or laser cannons,” reassured Kevin. And sure enough, when the next bolt of lightning came shooting down the sky, smashing against the force field, it just got absorbed into the field. The same thing happened a few more times- but as it happened for the sixth or seventh time, the shield gave away!
