Our Educator team keep track of your child’ s development through a variety of means, observations, samples of work and by assessing them against typical skill and development of that age child.
We use an application called Kindyhub that has been designed to replicate our systems.
Kindyhub allows the staff to capture child observations, analyse the data and then use this to plan for the child.
Each child has digital portfolio within Kindyhub that staff have developed and this includes observations that track development and learning, samples of work and samples of play.
This digital portfolio is within our KindyHub application that all parents have access to via the internet with your own secure password.
Kindyhub has been developed in conjunction with our staff and the Kindyhub Team based in Sydney.
Copies of our daily Journal are emailed each day to families, and observations are emailed when they are completed. These are available within the Kindyhub app as well.
The daily journal tells you about the significant happenings on the day that captured the children’ s attention and how this was used by educators to build knowledge and skill.
The Daily Journal is the program in action. It provides you with a great starting point to talk about your child’ s day at the centre.
We will also provide you with regular written observations that will document your child’ s development. These can be accessed through the KindyHub App that you will be provided with free.
Also all photos that are tagged with your child’ s name are available to download and print.
The KindyHub App is available free for all families. Once your child’ s profile has been established within KindyHub you will receive an invitation to download the App on your mobile device or computer. You will create your own account and secure password.
KindyHub is a fully secure and enclosed system, its data services are located in Sydney and, managed by Amazon.
The App will provide you with access to your child’ s Learning and Development portfolio. This includes:
• The Daily Journal- which is narrative created by the educator team and the children about what happened today, What was some of the new things we learnt about, or discovered or that caught our attention.
• Observations on your child’ s development and how these influence our planning.
• Photographs of your child at play.
• Events calendar, this highlights what special events are coming up for the children and reminders for parents.
• Messenger- we can send you special messages and you can send the same to us.
• If you don’ t have access to the internet or your data plan limits how much data you can
download, let us know and we will print the journal for you and provide copies of photographs if you bring in a USB. If you require information on how your child is progressing please do not hesitate to ask. We are only too happy to share information we have gathered with you.
Please be mindful though that at various times during the day it can get busy, so if you think you would like an in-depth discussion or have a concern that may take time to explore, please make an appointment to speak with the staff member or Director.
KindyHub Messenger allows you let communicate with the staff, and KindyHub Events is a diary where the educator team will load in special events and dates.
